FINANCIAL CHECKUP..IT'S TIME!
IT'S JUNE ALREADY, ALMOST HALF OF 2019 IS GONE. HOW ARE YOU DOING?
New Year's Eve seems so long ago. Everyone talked about resolutions and a lot of people
decided this would be the year the finances would finally become a priority and debt would
be paid off! So, I have to ask, did you meet your goal?
Did you set a specific goal?
For example: I will pay off $10,000.00 in credit card debt by July 1, 2019.
Another example: I will sell my car with large debt owed on it and buy a car that I
can pay cash for while getting out of debt.
Notice the specific date for debt payoff and the statement "I will".
THERE IS ONLY ONE WAY TO REACH A GOAL-SIT DOWN AND WRITE OUT A PLAN
WITH SPECIFICS LIKE WHEN YOU WILL DO SOMETHING AND BY WHAT DATE. THEN WHAT YOU WILL DO ONCE THAT GOAL IS REACHED.
KEEP REACHING FOR THE SKY, IF YOU REACH FOR NOTHING, YOU WILL OBTAIN IT. (EVERY TIME).
Again I will remind everyone that Christmas is not very far away, so it is a good idea to start thinking in that direction. Also, before you turn around, there will be expenses for school clothes, school supplies and expenses. It is helpful to start a little savings for these items if you need them.
Do a little budget checkup and see how you are doing following a budget and/or envelopes for certain categories like groceries and eating out. Fall off the wagon? It's all right. That is why you stop, think about it and act. Life is about making the necessary changes to succeed. We are not always spot on with our thinking and our planning, however, we can adjust our behaviors and change things. It can get better, you got to do a little thinking and change your ways. No one can do the work for you.
Time for a garage sale? Do it. Time to amputate the expensive items you cannot pay for and did not really NEED? Amputate the notes you took on and are struggling to pay every month. Amputation is hard but sometimes getting rid of things that cause pain and suffering is the best medicine.
